The Orange Project
The Orange Project is about corporate control in relation to American gender and racial identity. White, male dominance in corporate America has influence on every aspect of our lives. 500 portraits of the fortune 500 company CEOs of 2007 were painted on 500 oranges, which were then left to rot in custom-built shadow boxes. The video installation of the performance illustrates the shedding of my white identity and the overwhelming sensation of whiteness in society.
Every viewer can relate to the topics within The Orange Project. Both repulsive and beautiful, The Orange Project embodies endurance and gender and racial criticism in American Society through corporate leadership.
